Prenatal Consultations + Newborn Visits + Lactation Consultations

At Island Kids Pediatrics, we are a breastfeeding-friendly practice. Breastfed babies receive perfect and natural nutrition. Through breast milk, mothers are able to pass on immunity to their babies, which can protect them against respiratory and diarrhoeal illnesses. Breastfeeding also has been shown to provide protection against non-communicable diseases such as asthma, diabetes, and obesity. For these reasons, most of our providers are experienced with lactation. In addition, Dr. Khan is a certified lactation counselor, and can provide additional assistance, guidance, and resources for any concerns you may have regarding your newborn’s nutrition. Please ask us your questions regarding your plans to breastfeed. We look forward to helping you meet your personal breastfeeding goals!
